For this blog I bring you a great guest blogger! Her name is Krista and she is the owner of Magick & Miracles Healing Sanctuary. She will tell you more about her business and what she does! I hope you enjoy her tips on how to relieve stress! Introduction As a small business owner myself, I understand the unique demands it has, not only on one's body, but mind as well. We wear many many hats, which can get quite weighty by day's end. Then add on any that we wear for our families and communities, and you have the makings for a very stressed out individual. Luckily, I am in the business of helping with just that! My name is Rev. Krista McKeon, RM, LMT, CACRTM, MM and I am the hands and heart behind Magick & Miracles Healing Sanctuary, which is a private healing arts practice. I offer a range of different types of services to help relieve the mind and body of the stresses it accumulates throughout this journey we call life. In my practice, I work with each client one on one to help them achieve their personal goals of well- being. Whether they come to see me to ease their body's aches and pains, seek emotional comfort and resolution, mental clarity and perspective, or to find a deeper meaning within it all, each person receives a customized approach and not only leaves feeling lighter, but also with a few tips to help them between sessions. After all... well-being is everything we do, say, see, and think, because there is a lot of life happening between visits. A Solid FoundationSo first I find out if they have their basics covered:
If not, then we start there. But if they seem to have a solid foundation, I will then begin looking into other areas to see where any imbalances may be. As I talk with each client, it usually becomes quite apparent what aspects could use a little tweaking, and more often times than not, the biggest challenge for small business owners is their TIME! We all only have 24 hours in a day, so we need to be very protective of that time. Prioritizing activities to not only get things done, but leave you feeling accomplished and energized is key. Recently I photographed an engagement session for my friends Cassandra and Alice. When I am having such a good time working with a couple I cant help but wonder their story. I decided to ask them what their story was, and share it with you all along with some of their photos. “we met through one of our mutual friends, Amanda. Amanda decided that she wanted a group of her friends to go to stonewall one night. I wasn't 21 yet so when we got there Alice went up stairs all night and I stayed down stairs but on the drive home we started talking and we went back to Amanda's house to hang out for a little bit. I texted Amanda saying that I thought Alice was really cool and I would like her number to get to know her more. So she texted Alice and gave her my number and Alice texted me saying that a little birdy told me that you like me and wanted to get my number so here it is.” So how did you start dating? “We started hanging out and I asked her out by making her French toast and carved it so it said wanna go steady?” Tell me about your proposal. “For the proposal we went to the zoo for my birthday but instead of going in August we went in September because something came up so when we went she gave the ring to her mom until we were at the giraffes and I had no clue I was so excited to see the gazelles and then I went to go look at the giraffes and we were standing next to each other and then she said Cassandra Kayla Hilger we've been talking about the rest of our lives she got down on one knee and asked if I would marry her and I was stunned and said yes and cried!” Here are some more engagement photos! We took their engagement photo at the Allentown Rose Garden in Allentown, Pa. So there it is, a true love story! I hope you’ve enjoyed the photos.
If you are engaged and looking for a photographer contact me today to schedule a free consultation! As a parent you spend a lot of time and/or money on your Child's Halloween costume. The bad thing about this is that in most cases your child only wears this outfit one or two times. The best way to remember these amazing costumes is with photos! Below are some tips on how to ensure that your photos will be better and more exciting then the classic mug shot images from our childhood. 1: Go outside! When I think of Halloween photos from my childhood, I think of when my sisters and I stood in a line looking uncomfortable in front of a white wall. This habit needs to change! Kids don’t like being inside, so take them outside! Being outside makes for a more dynamic background and setting for these cherished memories. 2: Take photos earlier in the eveningSunset and twilight makes for great Halloween photos! It adds a creepy effect that goes with Halloween so well. Your kids will be much easier to photograph if you take these photos before trick or treating, since they will be excited to go and not as tired as they will be after. 3: Get on their level Kneel, Sit, bend, lay down, do whatever it takes to get at eye level with your child! This creates a more dynamic and personal look. Being at their level also allows you to see more of the costume, as compared to standing above them and looking down. 4: Don’t be afraid to use your flash Almost all cameras have flashes that are really smart! Don’t be intimidated by the flash, let it do its work. A flash will make your child stand out better in front of the night scenery, and show off all the fine details of their costume. 5: Get into CharacterLet your kids have fun! Tell them to act like the characters they are dressed as. This lets the kids feel more relaxed, and have more fun! Snap plenty of pictured while they are jumping, buzzing, and swirling around. You’ll be sure to get some good action shots that show off the costume and your Child's personality.
I love photographing weddings. From the played off nervousness of the groom before the wedding to the drunken dancing by the end of the night, I honestly enjoy it all. Majority of the time, I have one wedding a week. Occasionally I will end up with two weddings I get to work in one weekend. Then, once in a while, there is the great white wale… A Three wedding weekend! I enjoy three wedding weekends because I get to do what I love! I get to work with three awesome couples who all have unique weddings. I get to capture their day for them from start to finish. But as you can imagine these weekends come with challenges of their own. The biggest of these challenges is that photographing a wedding is exhausting! I’m sure all of my fellow photographers can relate to this sentiment. So after recently having two three wedding weekends in a row I’ve compiled a list that make up my three wedding weekend survival kit! Take a look and let me know what you think. What’s in your wedding survival kit?
I love being a part of moments like this! As a photographer we are there to capture lifes biggest moments. I have known Kelly since she modeled for me several years ago for a trash the dress shoot, and we have grown our relationship ever since then! I was so excited when her, now husband came to me about the surprise engagement. He knew how much Kelly wanted couple photos so he planned out a photo session in downtown Bethlehem, PA. First we just did regular couple portraits, and then I had them pose by the lamp post giving Tom the perfect spot to pop the question. It was a beautiful moment!
Then Kelly wanted to keep the tradition and came back to the same location for her maternity pictures, and then to finish our series her holding baby Caiden. They are the cutest family! |
